The gist: Amber McCobb works for McCobb Mortality Services, a global agency of clairvoyant mortals. For millennia, the McCobbs have aided ghosts in their transition to the afterlife. When Amber’s CEO mother turns the family non-profit into a cash-grabbing corporation, Amber must confront her—and the rest of her chronically dysfunctional family.
